Did you know that hanami is a Japanese practice or custom of viewing cherry blossoms when they are in full bloom in Japan? These Cherry blossoms are said to symbolize the fragility of life in Japanese culture as Cherry Blossoms’ full blooms last for only about a week before the petals start falling off from their trees. This year, and of course due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the government has raised a restriction and therefore cancelling Hanami in order to avoid a sudden spread of infection during this season.
