Every year, the Land of the Rising Sun attracts millions of international tourists from different parts of the globe. Majority of these travel enthusiasts have definitely included Tokyo’s Disney Resort among their bucketlist of must-see places in Japan. For Disney fanatics, exploring the magical amusement parks and enjoying the amazing rides at the resort must be a dream come true. The Disney Resort is home to two fascinating theme parks: the Tokyo Disneyland and the DisneySea.

They both have a wide selection and a good combination of exhilarating rides for kids and adults alike. However, most of the park-goers would agree that DisneySea’s rides are more inclined to cater to grown-ups in their 20’s or 30’s as well as thrill seekers.

Oriental Land Co., the operator of Tokyo DisneySea confirmed that the theme park will open a new attraction to be launched as the Fantasy Springs this coming 2022. They intend to expand the park by an additional 140,000 square meters. This will be the largest entertainment activity area in Tokyo DisneySea since it was established in 2001.

Fantasy Springs will feature four new Disney-inspired attractions showcasing some of the world’s most popular Disney movies such as Peter Pan, Frozen and Tangled. Multiple restaurants and a hotel with an overlooking view of the park will also be constructed within the planned extension. This multi-billion project is considered to be the most ambitious and extravagant themed area in Tokyo Disney Resort.

Toshio Kagami, the CEO of Oriental Land Co. said that “We’d like this to become the only one of its kind in the world.” Meanwhile, Walt Disney Co. Chairman and CEO Robert Iger also expressed his positive support to the intended expansion. According to him, “We are extremely excited to be adding magic to this world of fantasy and wonder. … I can’t wait to see these new magical worlds come to life.”
